Grace, this is so correct, and I think it's is one of the hardest things to get younger users of resumes (students in my case) to understand. The first thing I usually say to a student is that a resume isn't a work history, it's a marketing document, telling a specific story to a specific audience.
Great post. Resumes should be concise and easy to read. One page is ideal. It is a marketing document that you should tailor to the specific job you want.
